A country like ours thrives on rituals and traditions, superstitions and beliefs, good luck charm and bad luck symbols. All of us, irrespective of class and caste, end up bowing to anybody whom we believe can end our troubles and discard anybody whom we believe can bring bad omen.

Devi is a story of such beliefs and disbeliefs.

A series of coincidences and blind faith of a village puts an ordinary young girl on a pedestal and how her life takes a turn for worse when she is branded as the reincarnation of Goddess and the savior of the village.

Devi brings to light the superstitions prevailing in our society, the reluctance to break free from them and the subsequent effect it has on a young innocent girl’s life.

Based in a village called Chaitipur in Bundelkhand, this never-seen-before story is a true eye opener and brings us face to face with the harsh reality of rural India.
