We have always heard of incidents when actors had to go through grueling shooting schedules and had to train long hours to prepare for a role. There have been numerous instances where an actor had to do certain things that were not very healthy for them but did so because the script demanded it.
Pallavi Purohit had her tryst with gulaal while shooting for Madhubala Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. There is a Ganpati festival scene where Pallavi’s character Padmini is seen running for her life from the goons sent by her cruel husband, Balraj. To hide from the bad guys, Padmini decides to put on gulaal on her face.
During the shoot, she had to continuously put gulaal and that led to an allergic reaction on her facial skin. It has been reported that she had to consult a doctor who had later advised her to absolutely stay away from gulaal since she is seriously allergic to it. Pallavi had been on prescribed medicine since then but she says that the scenes she shot despite all the discomfort have been canned rather well and have come up better than expected.
