There is always an open war among major and popular general entertainment channels and the likes of Star Plus, Zee TV, Sony and Colors always have a close fight. The frenzy of IPL had taken a toll on many channels and Zee TV was not immune. However, with IPL now being an affair of the past, Zee TV has regained its No 2 position and that is courtesy ‘Dance India Dance Lil Masters’.
‘Dance India Dance Lil Masters’ has been performing very well but Sony Entertainment Television Asia dominated the No 2 spot with 219 GRPs in the 21st week of 2012. In the 22nd week Zee TV has managed to increase its GRPs from 218 to 233, primarily because of ‘Dance India Dance Lil Masters’ and the newly launched ‘Madhubala’ which is being touted to have had the best opener for fictional shows in 2012.
The third spot belongs to Colors comfortably followed by Sony in the fourth spot. The remaining channels have not seen any major changes with the fifth, sixth and seventh spots belonging to SAB TV, Life OK and Sahara One respectively.
