The Forest Preview

A married couple heads to the jungles for a getaway. This is not an ordinary vacation or a weekend getaway but kind of a retreat which is an avenue to resolve their disputes amicably and to save a troubled marriage. They are childless and have a lot of issues on their plate to fix. A normal, happy life is all that they want and to do so in an urban city, they need to put themselves back together amidst nature’s serenity.

Pritam (Ankur Vikal) and Radha (Nandana Sen) had certainly made a nice plan but it all goes for a toss when Abhishek (Javed Jaffery), Radha’s former lover bumps into the couple in the jungle. Abhishek is a local cop and he comes over with his son Arjun (Saleen Ali Zaidi) along with the couple and put up at a secluded cottage. Things turn unpleasant when Pritam and Abhishek are pitted against each other and things turn anxious. While the two men are in an intrepid fight for Radha, the jungle is stormed by a few violent and suspicious deaths.

Some poachers had shot a leopard and managed to wound it but not fatally. The wounded leopard is at large and being unable to hunt for itself, turns against the preys that it can still fight with – Man. The leopard goes berserk and on a killing spree while Pritam, Radha and Abhishek shift their focus on a suspected foul play among each other.

Directed by an Oscar nominated director Ashwin Kumar ‘The Forest’ brings forth the issue of poaching and encroachment of the wildlife and sets it in the backdrop of a couple trying to come to terms with each other while being troubled by a passionate former boyfriend of the wife.
