Created under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures & ALT Entertainment, Ekta Kapoor & Milan Luthria join hands again to present one of the most anticipated films of this year ‘The Dirty Picture’ starring Vidya balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi & Tusshar Kapoor in lead roles. ‘The Dirty Picture’ is believed to be inspired by the real life story of South Indian Film Artiste ‘Silk Smitha’ who is still looked upon as one of the most sensuous and seductive actress of all time.

The story revolves around the life & experiences of the main protagonist of the movie i.e. Vidya Balan, who plays the character of ‘Silk Smitha’. This movie reveals major details of her life & takes the audience through a journey that commences from the initial stages of her career in South Indian Film Industry when she was just a Make-up artist for B-grade movie actors to further emerging as one of the most wanted actresses of the 80’s. Although, ‘Silk Smitha’ portrayed herself as a true ‘Sex-Symbol’ of the 80’s, in reality she was just another woman seeking true love. This movie depicts her dramatic love life with a pinch of humor. Silk Smitha knew her fans very well, which is why she excelled in every step of her career.

Vidya balan has reportedly delivered one of her best & most controversial performances in this film, which is quite noticeable in the theatrical trailer. The music of this film is composed by Vishal-Shekhar and has already topped the charts. It is yet to be seen if the movie is capable of generating similar response when it releases worldwide on December 2nd 2011.
