Priyadarshan is not known as an action film director. He had created some cults in the genre of slapstick comedy and some had been among of the highest grossing films in their respective years of release. Lately, Priyadarshan has run out of luck when it comes to comedies and family dramas and perhaps this is the primary reason to try out something different.

Tezz boasts of an ensemble cast starring a superstar of South Indian Cinema Mohanlal and contemporary A Lister of Bollywood Ajay Devgan. There is long list of supporting actors including Anil Kapoor, Kangana Ranaut, Boman Irani, Zayed Khan and Sameera Reddy. The film is about Ajay (played by Devgan) who is a smart masterminded thief and apparently he has kept the Scotland Yard off his tail all along. Shivan Menon played by Mohanlal discovers that the elusive criminal is none other than Ajay and thereby prior to retiring Shivan sets his eyes on him and takes all his stolen wealth away and also sets grounds for his love interest to part ways. Certain to avenge his enemy, Ajay puts together a team - Zayed Khan and Sameera Reddy to hatch a plan so he can get back all that he has lost.

The trailer speaks loads of the cinematography which is simply superb and the stunts have been choreographed by Gareth Milne of the “Bourne Supremacy” fame. The film is set to be a high octane thriller with enough adrenalin pumped into the narrative. The only thing that should be bothering Priyadarshan and producer Bharat Shah is the massive failure of “Players” which incidentally was a heist film (touted as a thriller). The problem with such Bollywood films trying to emulate their Hollywood friends is that they end up putting up a polished movie with superb edits and camera work but weak acting and supremely weak storylines. We can only hope Tezz to prove us wrong.
