Producer Ratan Jain was holding the rights of the title Joker, but when Shirish Kunder asked; Ratan courteously given it to Shirish. Coincidently, Vashu Bhagnani and Vikas Mohan also put an application for this title, but promptly consented to Shirish’ request.

This movie is produced under three banners i.e. Utv Motion Pictures, Three's Company and Hari Om Entertainment Co. The movie is produced by Farah Khan, Akshay Kumar and Shirish Kunder. The director is Shirish Kunder. The star cast consists of Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Jaaved Jaaferi, Shreyas Talpade, Minissha Lamba, Vindu Dara Singh, Asrani, Sanjay Mishra and Chitrangda Singh (for item Song).
