One of the most awaited movies of 2012, Ferrari Ki Sawaari seems set to be released in April, right in the middle of the crazy Indian Premiere League cricket tournament. Vidhu Vinod Chopra has taken a gap of almost 3 years after 3 Idiots to come up with his next film. Once again the dream team of Chopra, Rajkumar Hirani and Rajesh Mapuskar (who has assisted Chopra and Hirani on many earlier films) come together to weave yet another magic at the box office and at the hearts of movie lovers. It is well known how choosy Vidhu Vinod Chopra is when it comes to his projects and Ferrari Ki Sawaari is one such film.

Sharman Joshi, one of the 3 Idiots of Raju Hirani and Chopra, plays a young father who promises a ride in the posh, elite and expensive Ferrari ride to his son. Joshi’s son is a budding cricketer and the movie takes us through the journey of this middle class father while he tries to fulfill his promise. Ferrari Ki Sawaari is being touted as a lighthearted, funny and heartwarming tale of a father and son holding a basket of morals intertwined in the sub plots, as is expected from a Raju Hirani and Chopra screenplay and production.

Unlike the last films from the Chopra camp, this film is not a multi-starrer and much has been kept under wraps. Ferrari Ki Sawaari has been shot on real locations amidst real crowd as audience and extras in the scenes. There was some news about a sequence being shot at the historic and iconic Lords cricket ground and a huge crowd of common residents in the UK (mostly Asians) turned up to fill in the stadium’s capacity.

Well, not surprising since Chopra’s last film was the highest all time overseas grosser. Can we expect another magic? Got to wait till April.
