Fatso Preview

After a pretty long wait, Fatso is all set to release on 4th May 2012. The film brings together the talented team of writer and director Rajat Kapoor and actor Ranvir Shorey.

Fatso has an intriguing premise. Navin (Parab Kohli of Rock On fame) and Nandini (Gul Panag) are madly in love with each other. They love each other for who they are and are all geared up to tie the holy knot of matrimony. All seem to be good in Navin and Nandini’s life as well as in their social circle which comprises of Sudeep (Ranvir Shorey) and Yash (Neil Bhoopalam) until a fateful day when the three male friends meet with an accident while driving on a highway.

Apparently, Navin is taken to a place which is simply called ‘Afterlife’. It is neither a heaven nor a hell which a young boy tells us that such terms exist to fool the common man. Anyway, the afterlife looks pretty much like a government office with files decked up all around the premises and several long queues of people who have died are classified according to suicides, accidents and senior citizens among other departments of death. Navin realizes that he has been wrongly picked up by the messenger of death and that Fatso (Ranvir Shorey’s Sudeep) is the one who should have died. Since what has been done cannot be undone, Navin is advised to have his soul reincarnated into Sudeep’s body while Sudeep’s body would be drained of its life to keep the records in order.

Now Navin gets into Fatso’s body and what starts is a profuse unprecedented ride of ecstasy, pain, hilarious events and nostalgia. Nandini, who had never ever envisaged Fatso as anything more than a friend and Fatso aka Sudeep who would have never dreamt of falling in love with a beautiful woman because he is fat, clumsy and absolutely unorganized despite being a prolific painter, now start to feel what was hitherto unimaginable.

Directed by Rajat Kapoor, Fatso is produced by the father daughter duo of Pritish Nandy and Rangita Pritish Nandy of Pritish Nandy Communications in association with Daily Multimedia Limited, and the music for this romantic comedy has been composed by Sagar Desai while Amitabh Varma has penned down the lyrics.

Fatso also stars Gunjan Bakshi, Brijendra Kale, Bharati Achrekar, Yusuf Hussain, Rahul Vohra and Jehangir R Karkaria in supporting roles.
