The team of Love Aaj Kal is back and almost with the same team onscreen and off screen. Cocktail is an upcoming romantic comedy starring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, debutant Diana Penty, Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia.

Cocktail is about three modern day free spirited people – Gautam (Saif Ali Khan), Meera (Diana Penty) and Veronica (Deepika Padukone). Gautam is an extrovert and compulsive flirt who manages to break the myths of all conventional pick up lines and manages to make a girlfriend out of every girl he meets. Meera is not someone who would instantly and easily fall for someone like Gautam. Veronica is the last woman to get serious with a guy. She is as cool as one can get. She is frank, upbeat about life, carefree and does not have any inhibitions whether we talk about dresses or conventional family decorum.

Gautam, Meera and Veronica become the best of friends and embark on a journey of fun, drinks, enjoyments and frantic love. That is until love starts to frame itself into something more serious than pick up lines and casual dates. Gautam’s parents drop in and discovering their son’s lifestyle is blown over to the hilt of being shocked and disgusted in equal measures.

Cocktail is a lighthearted take on modern day relationships and when love discovers wondrous souls.

Imtiaz Ali (Love Aaj Kal, Jab We Met & Rockstar) returns but this time as a writer and Cocktail is being directed by Homi Adajania and is being produced by Saif Ali Khan’s Illuminati Films and Eros International. Although Cocktail reminds you of the leading pair’s Love Aaj Kal with a similar treatment, Cocktail may just be different enough.
