May 16th Written Update - Summary

The Chief Minister thanks all for the function. He has to leave for Delhi for a meeting. So he asks all to stay back and enjoy the mela as all have worked hard for this day. Then Anandi touches his feet. Shivraj Shekhar shakes the hand of the CM. All see off the Chief Minister. The cultural program resumes.

They all ask Anandi to participate. She also starts dancing with all. All are enjoying. Then the dancers drag the Collector also. He takes off his coat and takes the drum. Once he starts playing the drum, Anandi and others come out to dance on the stage. Dadisa is watching them both on the stage. She is dreaming of Shivraj Shekhar as a groom. She sees that Anandi is dancing with so much dedication as if all her pain of all these years has gone away.

After the dance, Shivraj praises Anandi for her dancing skills. She thanks him for saving her life. She also apologizes for not recognizing him. Just then Dadisa comes and asks Anandi to show the mela to Shivraj. This way he would come to know more about Jaitser. They both agree and go away.

Anandi shows Shivraj around the mela. He also eats there. Then he sees a small girl crying at a bangle stall. Shivraj asks the girl what the matter is. The bangle seller says that he cannot give her bangles as she is a child widow. Just then her parents come and say that she has done the wrong of being a widow so she cannot wear bangles. Shivraj gets angry and says that they are taking away the happiness of a small child. He tells all the villagers that he does not wish to come in the way of their traditions and rituals. But if all these come in the way of his work, he will not hesitate to take strict action.

Dadisa is very happy that he is exactly like Anandi. She realizes that both have the same thinking. She wants to know if Shiv is married or not. So she asks him and is informed that he is not married. She again dreams of Shiv as a prospective groom for Anandi.

Dadisa is delighted. She thanks her Devi ma. She keeps on dreaming of Shiv as a groom who has been sent here just for Anandi.
