May 14th Written Update - Summary

Anandi is telling a bedtime story to the kids. Before she can finish, the kids fall asleep. While sleeping,

Anandi has the same dream. She sees a person on horseback, but she is not able to see his face as her dupatta comes on her face. Then she wakes up and realizes that it was all a dream.

Next day, Dadisa and Gehna are waiting for Anandi to come down after getting ready. They are getting impatient as they all have to pray before going to the award ceremony. Just then Anandi comes down with Anandi. Gehna and Dadisa keep on looking at Anandi as she is looking so pretty. Dadisa remembers the time when Anandi had come to her house after marriage.

Dadisa asks Anandi to pray as today is a big day for all. All women go and pray. Anandi touches everyone’s feet.

All the schoolgirls come as they have to perform at the function in front of the Chief Minister. Outside, a band is playing music. The villagers shower flower on her. Her horse carriage is also decorated with flowers. The villagers are very happy with Anandi as because of her, their village is going to become a district. She says that all have contributed to this success. She says that she will not sit alone on that carriage. She asks Dadisa to sit along with her. She insists and Dadisa agrees. They both sit on the horse carriage. All along the way, villagers shower flowers on them.

At the function, they are welcomed by the village ladies. The kids have kept firecrackers there. They burst them before Anandi can get down from the carriage. The horse gets scared and runs away with Anandi in the carriage. Bhairon and Basant follow in a jeep to save her.

The horse is running away to the jungle. Anandi is not able to reach to the leash. She is crying for help. Just then a big car comes to help her. The person in the car jumps on to her carriage and catches hold of the leash. He holds the reins to make the horse stop. The carriage gets separated and the horse runs away. They both fall off the carriage.

The person from the car gets up and sees Anandi. He gets Anandi’s dupatta and gives it to her. Then he asks Anandi how all this happened. Anandi explains. He says that nobody likes noise, including animals. He wonders how they will go back. His car is gone now. The carriage is of no use. Then he sees the horse. He sits on the horse. He asks Anandi to come along. Anandi hesitates but has no option.

The person asks her who she is. She says that her name is Anandi Singh. The person recognizes that she is the Sarpanch of Jaitser. Just then they see two jeeps with villagers and her family. All are relieved to see her safe and secure. Basant asks how she escaped as the horse was running very fast. Anandi replies that an unknown person came and saved her life. She asks them to thank him, but before that he goes away. Nobody recognizes that man. He is a stranger to all. It is time for the CM to come. Sumitra asks Anandi to freshen up and change.

There is a fair at the award ceremony. All are enjoying the swings, dances and puppet shows. Just then the CM arrives. He is greeted by all. He is introduced to Anandi. CM says that he wanted to meet her as she is so young. The whole State is so proud of her. This is because she is the youngest Sarpanch and a woman at that. She is so hard working.

The CM goes on the stage. He calls Anandi over there on the stage. She feels shy but Dadisa asks her to go. Sumitra feels very proud. CM is welcomed by the village. He is asked to make a speech.

CM greets all. He announces that Jaitser is not an ordinary village any more. It is a district now. There is a lot of development in a very short time. All have put in a lot of hard work. So, all the villagers are to be appreciated. He praises Anandi and is highly impressed by her work. Anandi has done a lot in the field of education and development. He talks about how she has worked for the development of downtrodden women. Thus the State Government has decided to reward Anandi Singh. He says that he is feeling very proud in giving this award to Anandi Singh.

He gives an award to Anandi. She touches the CM’s feet. Anandi stands with the award. Newspapers click her photo. Her family is very happy.
