May 8th Written Update - Summary

Priya is angry and she reminds Ram of what he told her when he confronted Karthik, Ram had told her that if she loved her brother so much and trusted him so much, then you go and live with his itself. So Priya tells Ram that she does love her brother and trust him and she is going to stay with him. Ram is stumped and does not know what to say. He goes to Niharika to ask her to talk to Priya and Niharika reminds her that she is the “Bahu” of the Kapoor house.

Priya goes to her room, and Ram still tells Niharika to speak to her, and Priya interrupts and asks Ram to grow up and let go of his mother’s pallu. Priya packs her bag with Ram constantly telling her to think her decision through, to talk it out, but Priya doesn’t talk and leaves.

Priya enters the Sharma house with her suitcase and everyone is shocked. Sudhir and Shipra enquire, but Priya says she does not want to talk about it. Meanwhile in the Kapoor house, Niharika calls up her media friend, Ms. Jaffrey and lets her in on the news. Next day the newspaper headlines reads, “Ram kapoor dumps Priya kapoor. Business man kicks his wife out of his house after she along with her brother turned out to be..”. Shipra asks Priya about it, and Priya tells them only part of it is true as she has left the Kapoor household.

Priya leaves for the police station, and Shipra calls Ram. She enquires about the whole thing and asks him is it fair to break off their relationship for what happened between Karthik and Natz. Ram is confused and asks what happened, and Shipra asks him to read the newspaper. Priya comes and disconnects the phone and is infuriated that Shipra called Ram. Shipra says she needs to know what’s happening in her daughter’s life and needs to set things right, even if Priya doesn’t want her to.

Ram is infuriated with the news and gows to Niharika and Mama who are gossiping about the headlines. Ram get mad, and yells, Niharika tells him it’s of no use reacting to these headlines, and it is best for them to just ignore and let it pass. Niharika adds that with the fame and status of the Kapoor household, even if a rat makes noise in their house it makes it to the newspaper. She asks him to ignore it and not take the news seriously.
