The age old myth that sequels do not work in Bollywood has been broken down to pieces and naturally we have been and would get to see at least a dozen sequels in a year’s time (start with Murder 2, Don 2, run through Housefull 2 and all the 2’s & 3’s that are coming up).

Kunal Deshmukh is back with his trusted lead actor Emraan Hashmi with the objective of reaping the benefits of the successful Jannat that released some four years back. Jannat 2 has been directly aimed at the masses and the single screen audiences. There is no need to get into any sort of comparisons with Jannat, the prequel, since there is absolutely nothing that remotely connects the latter to the former – story, premise, characters or anything (apart from the Jannatein Kahaan song that has the same theme tune as that of Jannat Jahan).
