It is common for a Hollywood action movie to have a play station game and the trend has caught up with Bollywood as well. We had Shah Rukh Khan trying to promote Ra. One and now Nawab Saif Ali Khan who has been recently released on bail and is struggling with a brawl case is gearing up to launch a game for his upcoming spy thriller ‘Agent Vinod’.
If a game was not all, the producers (one of which is Illuminati Films owned by Saif) have also planned to roll out comic books to generate more hype. Although Saif Ali Khan’s Agent Vinod is being much talked about for its international appeal and many are going gung ho about the promo, it is nothing path breaking to be honest. There are hundreds of movies from all across the world that have better promos or cinematography or anything for that matter.
Unless Agent Vinod offers some new horizons to the genre of spy thriller, it may well turn into another wannabe Hollywood flick. We also hear that Agent Vinod would have a run time of about 2 hours and 30 minutes. For a spy thriller to keep the audience gripped for that long can be a huge challenge and we hope Saif and Director Sriram Raghavan are certain that they can do so. We have a tendency of losing interest in too much glitz and if the plot remains weak, even the multitude of international locations may fall flat.
You can now also download Agent Vinod songs from the music section of ApniTV
We are virtually tired of seeing our rom com leading ladies play the same versions of ‘Geet’ (Kareena Kapoor – Jab We Met), Rianna (Kareena Kapoor – Ekk Main Ek Tu), Jenny (Katrina Kaif – Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani) and the list is endless now. The latest is ‘Mini’ in ‘Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’ played by Genelia D’Souza or should I say Genelia Deshmukh. Now, Mini is again not much different from Aditi Mahant of ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ where we saw Genelia, also as a bubbly girl.
Apparently, Riteish Deshmukh can only do comedies and Genelia can only be seen as a bubbly, carefree and sweet girl. ‘Masti’ was perhaps a rarity where Genelia played a woman of more than her natural age and we did like her. Producers and Directors are perhaps more interested in typecasting an actor. In this case perhaps it was the right move since the only thing worth watching in the movie is Genelia. At times Riteish is simply great with his comic timing and he shows again why he is a regular feature on films like Dhaamaal, Housefull and the likes. The stage was set, the premise was unique and after several cupids playing their roles on screen we had a serious chance of witnessing something actually different. Jodi Breakers had all the things in the right place prior to its release. R. Madhavan is a name to reckon with in Bollywood and so is Bipasha Basu for sure and she looks beautiful and supremely in shape in Jodi Breakers.
Sadly, Ashwini Chaudhury as a director and a dialogue writer manages to spoil what could have been another good movie right at the start of the year. Jodi Breakers is nothing new despite the basic concept. Sid played by R. Madhavan ends up with a broken marriage and the divorce costs him a fortune. He has nothing and has to plan a new life and a business. But he has the time and luxury to indulge in some clubbing, (Really!). He mentions that he wants to cash in on ‘Love’ and hence embarks on the journey of becoming a Jodi Breaker but one wonders if it has anything to do with his bad fate at marriage. Tusshar Kapoor is one of the producers of his upcoming film ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandni’ which stars him and Kulraj Randhawa of ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ fame. Tusshar has been pretty candid about his investments clarifying that he does not intend to produce films but he is coproducing this one simply to make some money.
Apparently, Tusshar is not getting paid handsomely for the movie hence he decided to put in some money in the film production and in its promotions to make some extra bucks. He has also been planning the film’s promotions extensively and apart from appearing on his sister Ekta Kapoor’s serials, he is also chalking out some unique strategies to market the film.
We were aware that he was going to make an appearance in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ which is an Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji production. Now there is news that Tusshar would also appear in ‘Bade Achche Lagte Hain’.
Tusshar is going out of his treaded ways to ensure that ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandni’ generates enough interest among movie goers and why not when he has his interests juxtaposed with the film’s box office fate. As an actor he may not have hit a jackpot in his career yet, let’s wait and watch if he manages to become a successful producer.
It is not very often that a movie’s climax is revealed prior to the movie’s release, the least of which are the extensive details of the climax. However, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya’s producer Ramesh Taurani and director Mandeep Kumar think otherwise and consider the audience to expect a marriage as a fitting climax to a romantic comedy.
I am not certain if that would be apt judgment of the target audience or if the audience is not expected to wish for any unique ending from rom coms these days. Anyway, the real life newlywed couple would be seen tying the knot in the movie as well.
It may be a promotional strategy since the wedding of lovebirds Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza had been almost front page news in the country. At the end of the day the filmmakers ‘promotion ke liye kuch bhi karega’!
Munni is back and back with a bang and this time she is Anarkali. If Malaika Arora Khan had got the entire nation to groove with her desi thumkas in Dabangg, it is time for her to grace the discotheques. Well not literally since ‘Anarkali Disco Chali’ seems to be more of a folk and qawwali fusion.
T Series has released only a 30 seconds teaser to the song and it is bound to heat things up for Sajid Khan’s already awaited sequel to Housefull. The teaser of Housefull 2 has already hit close to a million views.
‘Anarkali Disco Chali’ brings back the deadly choreographer dancer duo of Farah Khan and Malaika Arora Khan and industry insiders as well as the audience are expecting nothing less than another Munni like magic with Anarkali.
It certainly seems Sajid Khan has put in some real game winners in the movie which already boasts of an ensemble cast lead by Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
Promoting films on popular TV serials is not a new strategy and has been there for a few years now. Recently, it was Vidya Balan who had been reported to be at the shooting of ‘Uttaran’ to hype her upcoming movie ‘Kahaani’ and Kareena Kapoor was also spotted in the promotional spree.
Following suit we have Tusshar Kapoor, the brother of the Queen of Soaps ‘Ekta Kapoor’, who would be making an appearance in ‘Pavitra Rishta’. The serial has been going strong with its rising TRPs and perhaps the Balaji think tank thought it to be a wise move to promote Tusshar’s upcoming ‘Chaar Din Ki Chandni’.
Well, we hope he can reap the benefits since the movie has not been able to generate enough hype yet apart from the remade song ‘Chandni O Meri Chandni’ from the Rishi Kapoor and Sridevi starrer ‘Chandni’ of the 80s.
We had learned about the allegations against Jodi Breakers that it was plagiarized from the French movie ‘Heartbreakers’.
Here is official confirmation that Jodi Breakers is not a remake or has not been plagiarized from the French movie. Perhaps, the similarity of the title would have prompted the Indian distributors of Heartbreakers to have taken such an action but Jodi Breakers’ director Ashwini Chaudhary is far from being pleased.
After the lawyers appointed by the distributors of ‘Heartbreakers’ confirmed that it is not a remake nor has it been copied, Ashwini wonders why someone would accuse a movie and its makers of plagiarism before even watching a single scene. He further believes that the allegations had something more to do that just to create hype about the French film.
For now, R. Madhavan and Bipasha Basu is set to break relationships and thankfully the audience would not have to witness another remake of a film made in the West.
Mohanlal’s fans were angry that he did a cameo for the movie Tezz and that the movie’s trailer did not show much of him. Well, he hardly has much to do in the movie.
His fans must not be angry since the National Award winning actor who is a Superstar down South, has been paid a whooping 1 crore for his small role. Before you point out that the Khans and the Roshan get paid to the tune of 20 crores and 25 crores, let us point out that Mohanlal had only 7 days of shooting for the film. 1 crore is what he gets when he is the lead protagonist of a movie in South Indian cinema. Commercially, the role is meaty enough if not plot wise.
The producers of Tezz which stars Ajay Devgn, Anil Kapoor, Boman Irani, Zayed Khan and Sameera Reddy are happy to spend that kind of money since they are of the opinion that Mohanlal’s presence can actually turn out to be a lot more profitable considering the South Indian movie lovers.
We certainly hope that the producers are right and that Mohanlal’s fans are happy now since the Megastar got paid rightly and was not subjugated in Bollywood.
For all those beautiful fans of ‘Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon’, here is some loveable news coming your way. Speculations are rife that during the wedding of Payal (Deepali Pansare) and Akash (Akshay Dogra), some circumstances would eventually lead on to the lead pair Arnav (Barun Sobti) and Khushi (Sanaya Irani) to tie the knot.
Although there are no confirmations yet but going by the sources and those who are involved in the making of the drama, the people behind the scenes are actually planning to take the audience by surprise.
Many have felt that a much needed twist has been due for a long time now and the lovely onscreen couple should steer away from all the coincidences that have been plaguing their relationship. But would there be another coincidence to turn things around or would the wedding throw up new circumstances that Khushi and Arnav would have to cope with?
Either way, the wedding should be one of a kind episode.
