Imran Khan is all set to romance Kareena Kapoor in this upcoming romantic comedy Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Shakun Batra. Imran Khan who has now made rom coms his own forte is in yet another similar role as we have seen him in Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na (his debut) and the last year’s hit “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan”. Kareena Kapoor who is the most sought after female actor in Bollywood these days is back doing what she does best, masala movies.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is predominantly set in Las Vegas where Rahul (Imran) and Riana (Kareena) get married after a drunken night’s encounter. Yes, it sounds similar to what happened with Ed Helms in The Hangover (remember the dentist) and the film may also have resemblance to “What Happens in Vegas” but Karan Johar has denied any such similarities. Coming back to the story, the couple gets mistakenly married and Riana being a year older to Rahul, it turns out to be a cougar relationship. Rahul is an introvert who stays alone and Riana is a fun loving extrovert who wishes to stay alone. The teaser is filled with some cool dialogues which are also uniquely original. The couple sets on a journey initially hinting at a mutual separation but then their small mistake makes way for pleasant surprises of their lives. The two start gelling with each other, falling in love and taking a light hearted beautiful journey of fun and more fun. The film is also shot in Los Angeles and India.

Anything that is set in Vegas needs to have a lot of booze, lights, carnivals and song and dance. Any movie that has Karan Johar in the filmmaking process would be glamorous and a treat to watch cinematographically and the music would certainly be hummable. Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu remains true to these premonitions and the chemistry between Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor is already a talk of B-town. Amit Trivedi has created a niche for himself in the industry and his music is being received positively. The film also brings in Randhir Kapoor (real life dad of Kareena Kapoor) to play Riana’s dad and Boman Irani, Ram Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah also feature as the supporting cast. David Mac Donald is the man behind the lens and the movie being distributed by UTV Motion Pictures is set to have an early February release.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is one of the most anticipated movies considering the weekend leading to Valentine’s Day. Imran Khan is the chocolate boy as of now and Kareena is a mass and class favorite and since she has been in the news consistently due to Madhur Bhandarkar’s in production “Heroine”, the movie has been receiving a lot of attention. Karan Johar has his hands full at the moment with Agneepath releasing on 26th January and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu on 10th February. Two completely different genres, entirely different cast and Karan would only hope to score a double whammy after a long gap from the limelight.
